The National Library of Australia is seeking fill the important role of Assistant Director, Trove Data Support. This vacancy manages the day-to-day operations for the platforms that underpin national digital collaborative services of the Australian cultural heritage and research sectors.

This includes managing a team to:

  • Coordinate the large-scale aggregation of data from Trove Collaborative Services members, for use in end-user discovery and research, collection analysis and resource sharing.
  • Oversee the movement and transformation of data between Trove modules to meet changing user and partner needs.
  • Drive continual improvement for all Trove service users through the creation of high-level requirements, business analysis, user acceptance testing and coordinating change management activities.

You will provide leadership and expert advice regarding:

  • The evolving data management practices in the cultural heritage and research sectors.
  • The changing needs, resources and standards used by Trove Collaborative Services partners to describe and share their collections.
  • The high-level leadership capability for leading and managing a team to deliver organisational outcomes, project and program activities.
  • You will develop, manage and maintain a range of external and internal stakeholder relationships, particularly Trove end-users and Partners and represent the Library effectively.

To undertake this vacancy, you must be able to trouble-shoot effectively in a technical environment.

To be suitable for this role, you must have experience in systems managing descriptive metadata in galleries, libraries, archives, museums or research institutions.

It would be desirable if you hold qualifications or equivalent experience in information management or information technology.
